Grandpas Shopping Problem

One sunny Saturday morning, Grandpa decided to take Alexa, his seven-year-old granddaughter, on a special outing. Grandma had errands to run, and Alexa had been growing like a weed—none of her clothes fit anymore.

“I’ll take her shopping,” Grandpa declared confidently, puffing out his chest. “How hard can it be?”

Grandma raised an eyebrow. “Just get what she needs, please.

He waved her off. “We’ll be back in an hour!”

They were gone for three.

When they finally returned, Grandpa was carrying six shopping bags in each hand. Alexa, trailing behind him, was barely visible under a mountain of pastel-colored dresses, glittery shoes, rainbow tights, and a unicorn hoodie with a tail.

Grandma’s mouth fell open. “What on earth, Wilson?!”

“We found some great deals!” Grandpa said cheerfully, clearly proud of himself. “And look at this dress—it sparkles!”

Alexa twirled proudly in a sequined dress that shimmered like a disco ball.

“Wilson,” Grandma said slowly, trying to stay calm, “You bought seven dresses. Two pairs of light-up sneakers. And I don’t even know what this is,” she added, holding up a fluffy onesie with bunny ears.

“It’s fashion!” Grandpa defended.

“You are never allowed in a little girl store again!,” she said, crossing her arms.

Grandpa sighed and slumped into the couch, defeated. “I just wanted her to have options.”

The next Monday at school, Alexa was asked by her teacher, Ms. Porter, to share something fun she did over the weekend.

Alexa stood proudly in front of the class, wearing a unicorn-themed tutu with rainbow suspenders.

“My grandpa took me shopping,” she announced. “ But now he’s not allowed in little girl stores anymore.”

Ms. Porter blinked. “Excuse me?”

” Yep, Grandpa got in trouble.

Grandma has learned to choose her words more carefully because sometimes when they get repeated, they sound worse than she could have imagined.
